Re: WM freight car color in late 1950's
I think you mean Floquil's Zinc Chromate primer for that color.
It's also a favored shade for B&O's post WW II bright oxide red, used on boxcars.

Re: WM freight car color in late 1950's
Fenton,
Floquil Zinc Oxide Primer was the go-tochoice for many rabid Wild Mary fans of the 1950s. It is a vibrant red with aslight orange cast. I would not know what SCII color to recommend.

WM freight car color in late 1950's
I need help again. I am doing a WM boxcar for a friend (he doesn't know or I'd ask him) in the speed lettering scheme and need to know a good Floquil or SCII (I don't use water based paints) paint

Re: New PFE DEcals from Speedwitch
If it's alive and well in a picture, it's there to be copied in scale IMHO? L.A. 1-50 fits smoothly in my collection. So I'll model it when time permits. BTW: I was rather puzzled by the 'orange'

One technique to add weight to a shallow gondola would be to use a metal floor. Create a realistic floor using a print that is laminated the metal. I did something similar with a short flat car a few
