The 22000 cars were purchased new by the M&StL in 1919, 22000-22598 USRA DS cars. There were built by Lenoir Car Works and the last was retired in 1950.

Yes, Smoky Mountain did do that ventilator box, and the instructions mentioned how this was made using 3D printing. I have one assembled, not decals applied, and quite honestly it is very nice given

Les I don’t have a photo and my books are not accessible at this time. That series of M&StL boxcars, 200 even numbers, was purchased used in 1941. The cars were from the CStPM&O, ex USRA DS

All the cars described in the article have 10'5" or 10'6" IH and 4/3/1 ends (bottom to top).
