Re: Chrysler Trucks
My problem is that they have solid bearings. Rock Island used roller bearing Chryslers under ex-troop express cars.
Thanks!

Re: Looking to ID a car
CB&Q had one of the largest if not the largest fleets of 36ft stock cars after WWII. Plans for these cars plus two multi issue 'how to' articles appeared in Mainline Modeler.

Re: Chrysler Trucks
Yep. I've already inquired. They come with .110 wheel sets. No idea
of their performance either. At that price I'd need to know that I'm
not getting lead sleds first. They do look nice.

The CB&Q also used stock cars for moving ties, and right now on eBay there is a photo of a CB&Q Stock Car in MOW service and colors with the slats boarded solid for use as a regular car for carrying

NKP also had 36 ft. double deck stock cars - 42150 series. See thealphabetroute web site & RMC plan book. A man in the southwest has an excellent photo of one of these and other NKP steam era freight

Re: Atlas FGE reefer
This Atlas model is definitely the ex-Branchline Trains AC&F reefer. The hatches, recessed side sill and steps are the easiest spotting features. While not appropriate for FGEX, AFAIK, they are fine

Re: Looking to ID a car
I am replying to Aaron's comment.
I can't see anything in the tiny photo Pierre posted, but if I'm not mistaken M.D.McCarter offered a photo of a car similar to the one Aaron mentioned in the
NMRA

Sorry guys, it's HO scale and it's long sold out but turns up here and there on ebay. Could very well be the ex Brachline car. Found two links:

Re: Con-Cor Stock Cars
Mike,
Maybe it would be odd for these cars, but in later days stock cars were very useful in MW service for carrying materials that let off potentially dangerous vapors. Possible loads

Con-Cor Stock Cars
Has anyone had a chance to take a close look at Con-Cor’s HOscale 1880-1930 era stock car? Is it reasonably (We all completely agree onthis term, right?) accurate for any actual prototype?
