It sounds like these Tanks are a good candidate to be copied using resin. It might be worth someone with a relationship w/GL approaching them about using resin tanks in their kit if that mold is the

Fortunately I knew I needed a bunch of tanks for my 8 bulk oil dealers before building my layout. I ordered six kits. I have plenty of tanks, but need a lot more vents, spouts and piping.

I learned about this on Tony's SP blog, one of the best things ever 'discovered" I've been using it for many applications, including attaching Delrin steps. It really works good for scenery, also.

These cars wound up on the B&O. A picture of one in 1964 is shown in B&O color guide. It says 7 were left in 1974.

Like you I have been looking high and low for this kit, with no success. I agree that the tanks are (were) superior to any other oil tanks out there. I treasure the one set I have.
