Re: Bangor & Aroostook Refrigerator Car BAR 2447
Oops ! Nevermind. I was looking at the photos of BAR 7471 and BAR 8000... :-[
Well, in any case, the MODEL represents the MAGOR cars (NH+BAR), not the PC&F car BAR

You know there is one of those critters sitting in Concord New Hampshire on Loudon road at the storage place. Data is still visible.

Yes, George Meile (owner of HFM) was a real character. So was his store.

Drew & Chris, the cars you are talking about were not ice reefers, but are insulated box cars. They
were indeed first available as resin kits in HO scale from the New Haven

McKean-Accurail box car (was UP 40' Double door automobile car)
Tim-
Before the huge rush to model a 3000-3499 series of GN DD 40' boxcar with the McKean DD car, consider this--that series of cars has a 15' door opening, which has its 8 riveted panels narrower

Yep. As Andy says we've discussed the McKean (now Accurail) car many times. The easiest one to model
closely (without major mods to the roof) is the 3000-3499 series.

Drew,
Yes, it may have originated as a New Haven Railroad Historical & Technical Association special run kit, and then entered the F&C line of regular products. See attached photos of one of these
