Thanks for posting an interesting car.
What is a "Divided Basket Bunker"? Would that impact the roof details? Thanks.

Re: Lettering removal proto 2000 hoppers
You're welcome. Nice looking "undec" you ended up with. Pretty much ready for
decals as is. Many guys will go to the trouble of adding a gloss coat/future/etc.

Re: SOME FINAL THOUGHTS ON SANTGA FE REFERS AND COLORS
I would agree that the Intermountain SFRD models have rendered some of the C&BT kits obsolete, but the C&BT kits of body styles B through E are still the cheapest and most abundant source for modeling

When walking a interchange inspection I could smell a hide car car links away. It would certainly wake you up. I do a decal set for the old wood side and steel side rock island car

Good points by Bill Pardie, and I still think that's a good color for a FADED car.
But Bill's point that the SFRD and PFE colors are similar is very

I recall when I was working once a boxcar was loaded with hides it was no longer deemed fit for any other service and was the lowest class of cars.

Jim, thanks for the suggestion. As you said, I applied 91% Isopropyl alcohol and let it set for a minute keeping it wet. I then used a wood toothpick and scraped. It worked great. Here is a finished

Re: Globe tank cars
I’ve got five or six of them. A couple of 3 compartment cars, maybe one more, a couple of single compartment cars, and I think I have a two compartment kit down there, too.
