I have on DVD with 4 SP stock cars on a B&O freight so they did wonder about not like boxcars etc but there is always an exception to every rule.

One caveat might be that the stock cars didn’t get stuck on any old train, but rather typically freights with expedited schedules, which often resulted in stock cars at the head end of reefer

As some of the responses noted, not only do stock operations need to be stated as region or railroad specific, but they typically need to be line or branch line specific as the movement of stock
