UP in Kansas
some classic freight cars from 1955 in the beginning of
the movie "Picnic" ... if you get bored you can watch lots
of other movies too. I watched Forbidden Planet earlier.

Re: Rocket Express Models Kit 1.1
Paul,
You could also check the Rocket Express website. I believe the cars shown there are lettered for the timeframe you are looking for.

There are photos in the kit directions, which look like builder photos, though uncredited. Steve Hile likely knows their source, and might even BE the source.

I¹d also like to see any info, as I have a couple of these myself to build.
I¹ll also post this to RITS, Rock Island Rockets, and Rock Island Models.
Thanks!

Rocket Express Models Kit 1.1
All:
I have a fully assembled Rocket Express Models kit 1.1 for a Rock Island 40' single sheathed, double door auto car built by the late Paul Lyons. I would like to paint and letter for 1950.

Re: ? about car stenciling...
Hi Clark,
The EXW is the extreme width. H on the same line refers to the height where it is measured. In this case, just above the side sill, probably at the door latch or guide.

Clark Cone asked:
"I'm seeing in reefer pictures in particular, car stenciling that says EXW 9FT 11 IN H 3 FT 7 IN...what does the "EX" stand for? What height does the H stand for in that label?"
