I have never seen a photo of a panel sided gondola in BCR. I believethose that survived were rebuilt before any were painted red. They weresuch distinctive cars, if anyone would have seen on painted

Mid1950's should be black. I don't believe BCR was used by the MP on gondolas until the early or mid1960s.

Also note the raised hand rail adjacent to the brake staff. I'd say this is a lot closer to 1915 than 1930.

You have found a photo of a ventilated Fruit Car which were used in thetraffic in the early days. Based on Coupler I suspect it is late 1890sto 1915.

That information is incorrect. MP painted open-type cars (flat, gondola, and hopper) black until 1961, which is after the period of the STMFC discussion group. The change occurred soon after
