There is no great conspiracy to all of this, you bid what you're willing to pay and hope for the best.

"My question is - would have these logos - Pacific Car and Foundry, Pressed Steel, Pullman Standard - survive for any great length of time?"
These would last until the car's first

How long would a car builders painted logo survive?
I have seen on builders photos, various logos from the car builders of freight cars delivered to (my primarily modeled) railroad.

The SC&F upper tank half and domes are molded in one piece, so replacing the SC&F domes isn’t an easy option. I’ll look for the SHPX 55 photo at the next show we both attend. I bought the kits

A sniper, whether automatic or manual, can only win by bidding more than you did. If the picture is worth $10.00 to you, how can you complain if it is worth $10.50 to someone else?
If you bid less

All that putting stuff up for sale on ebay does is award product to the bidder with the best auto-snipe programme. It's entertaining to see the auto-snipes come in and raise prices thirty seconds

The 1/43 ORER lists SHPX 50-67 (16 cars) as having 40 tons' capacity; with SHPX 53, 54, 56 as "exceptions" of 50 tons' capacity. Several explanations are possible. From most restrictive to least: (1)

I have a photo of BS 6740 with a 7 panel Superior door, but it could be a
