Re: unusual truck sideframes
Brian
Thanks, but now I'm confused. I thought your 009 model truck was an S-1-L. Not so?

Good morning Jim:
This would be easier would it not with the InterMountain version of the 1937 design because there would be no pesky ends to remove. Whichever way you go, think "Pattern" when working

unusual truck sideframes
I've seen sideframes like this in a couple of photos -- There
are small holes on either side of the bolster. Brian, or anyone,
know more about these

Bill, I could send you a photo of Charlie Duckworth's model, which
has ARA cast steel trucks (but without the spring planks, as I don't
think the Tahoe trucks were available at the time)

Rock Island 50' OB Boxcar
A few years back I completed Ron Van Werder's Rocket Express kit of the 50'
outside braced automobile car in the 262500 series. The only photo that I
had was a builder's photo from one of the Car

Stan R had a flat panel roof for 1937 AAR cars. Does the IM 1937 AAR car have separate ends?

Re: BS box car... more info please!
I'd be tempted to start with a Red Caboose '37 AAR kit, sand the ends flat, make a new roof from styrene sheet (the RC X29 roof is a little too long and narrow for the '37 body), and detail them up

Re: BAR fresh from the factory
Sure looks like it; they could go CP from Vancouver all the way to Brownsville Jct ME to turn over to the BAR. A lot of freight traffic in New England came via Canada The distance from the PC&F plant

Not unless you want to cut two bodies apart horizontally and splice the pieces back together, Jim. The BS car was 10’0” inside height, the ’32 AAR cars only 9’4”.

All,
Would the Atlas 32 ARA be a basis for modeling/kitbashing this car in HO scale? It's "too neat" not to model!
