Re: old photo
Hi Al,
I will look and see if I have the issue and if I do I will copy it and
mail it to you as I do not have a scanner. It will be interesting to
see the bridge and the freight cars on it!

Re: alcohol, dullcote & decals
Ed Mines asked:
"Which alcohol is used to fade paint colors with dullcote?"
Isopropanol, IIRC. Mike Rose's technique article was in the July 2001 issue of RMC.

Which alcohol is used to fade paint colors with dullcote?
Some alcohols attack decals and I think this would be worse for modern day thin film decals.

Re: B&O box car class?
This car is numbered just beyond the M-64 series, built in 1956 by GAT for the B&O.
Class M-64: Numbers 469100-469499 (500 cars).
Of these,
M-64a, cars 469400-46925 were equipped with Rax-Lok

Re: B&O box car class?
Tim,
I think its a M64 (Blt. GAT Corp 1956). A late 1960's renumbering from the original series. (#469100-469399).

Clark, I assume you’re referring to the Bx-3 and Bx-6 class sectional-wood-sheathed box cars that were converted to salt cars in the early 1950s by fitting refrigerator car doors and updated brake

How much control do you have painting with a "spray bomb" compared to a good airbrush, Bruce?
Given the cost of any good brass model that did not come factory painted today I'm not about to get any
