Re: Some steam era freight car content on the Library of Congress site
I did try Google for the search and typed in the entire string. Google, unlike IE. got me to one of the pictures, not the Library of Congress site. Will try more later.

Robert,
I pass this regularly, not sure about history of ownership of the cars. However, here is a link to their website; I am sure you can query them and find out---its great to have a few

Guys -
I think it is something that Yahoo has done. I have IE6 and am having the same trouble in each of my Yahoo groups, except for images in the "BullShippers" Yahoo group - the links there still

Hello, Claus...
Thanks for another great image.
Based on the pattern of the pressed steel posts and braces, and the fact
that the door opens to the left, the car appears to be a rebuilt PRR X23.

Re: Can this be a ULX type V or X tank car?
I can't quite make out the car number in this photo, but it appears to be
15339. It that is correct, it is, in fact a V car. Series 15000 - 15499
was built by Pressed Steel car in 1911 as 6500

I will have to remind them about that error in the presentation. I think
that there are a few others, I haven't looked at that in a while. I have
done quite a bit of research into their archives
