Thanks very much, Ben. Unfortunately that is not the piece I was refering to, but it is of interest enough that I have printed and filed it. What is nagging me is that I thought I had printed off

Re: New InterMountain C&O hopper
Hello folks,
These cars look super and are just the ticket for me time-wise.
The question that always troubles me with regard to C&O hoppers, however, is that with a number of file cabinets loaded

Resin coupler pockets (set of 5 pair)
I have a set of Resin coupler pockets (10 Total, 5 pair) that I picked up
someplace along the line. I think they were a hand out. They are sized for
Kadee 5 couplers from the look of them. I'll never

Re: Atlantic & East Carolina 1937 AAR Box cars
Ed, Richard, Tim and Ben thanks for the information.
The trucks seemed to vary slightly as I have seen two different bolster
configurations.
Does anyone know if the Morton RB's were painted ?

Agreed; very helpful. We are fortunate to have access to Mr. Hendrickson and other very knowledgeable folks willing to share the fruits of their hard work and long experience. Thanks much.

Re: Atlantic & East Carolina 1937 AAR Box cars
I am sending Richard the photo I have of A&EC 1019, which definitely
has the open bolster ends. Clearly these cars had more than one type
of truck by the 1950's!

Re: Hendrickson truck update
There is a mistake in this document. The truck labeled
"Walthers Proto 2000 Spring Plankless"
is not the P2K truck. It looks like the old Walthers truck,
which in turn I think is a 1-piece version

Re: Atlantic & East Carolina 1937 AAR Box cars
Brian,
According to photos with reweigh stencil dates of 2-3/1954 the A&EC
received 100 ex-Southern 1937 AAR box cars with a mix of square-corner
and round-corner ends in series 1000-1099.

Re: PRR X29 boxcar patches...
Don,
You are wrong in your supposition. Following up on what Ben has said, the car (definitely an X25) in the photos is clearly sporting patch panels. That is not a "crease". Careful examination

Re: Atlantic & East Carolina 1937 AAR Box cars
Tahoe ARA Buckeye is the closest in appearance to A&EC prototype.
Appears to be a Miner handbrake but I'm not certain of that.

Atlantic & East Carolina 1937 AAR Box cars
My cleanup continues and I find this old IMWX kit on the shelf. Atlantic &
east Carolina 1038. A little research revealed these were Ex Southern Cars
received in 1953-1954 (online sources differ)

Probably not, though Don Valentine will have to answer that as he had the original
