Those photos show two of the three configurations for these box cars (as received with 11+ ft inside height with 14-6 door; as rebuilt to 10-3 inside

Good call, Tim. Those 79000 series M-K-T cars had War Emergency single sheathed bodies, but they were rebuilds; the new bodies were installed on 40 ton fish belly center sill underframes salvaged

Jon, the Santa Fe Ga-54s are perfect for your 1941 date, as they were built by General American in 1941 and IM’s P/L scheme is the one applied to the cars when built new; thew were the only Santa Fe

I have assembled the Speedwitch model but have held off painting it because it has the black decals for the yellow car. The yellow scheme is very iffy for my 1955 railroad and I would prefer white
