Truck Springs for older sprung trucks
Hello, all,
This is a plea for help in finding more old used or unused truck springs
from many different HO truck makers. These springs were a feature of most
of the leading manufacturers' cars

Thanks Ben. On first glance it looked like the ends had been reused
but then it was noticed that the ends on the rebuild are two=piece while the originals are three-piece. Thus we have new sides,

The original N&W Class BS cars were door and 1/2; later, some of these cars were rebuilt and reclassed as BSa. N&W was big on rebuilding and reclassifying; no doubt there were accounting rules that

A&D's 2100 class were ex N&W cars which were originally DD cars, converted to single door cars for the A&D. The size of the new panel added to the left of the door suggests a door and 1/2 original

Re: A&D rebuilt box car
Ben, on my hard drive I discovered I had another image -- A&D 2148.
This car is stenciled BSx (small illegible subclass) but otherwise
it looks like the B-7a.

Re: Bowser N&W H30
The N&W HC-1 covered hoppers are very similar to the PRR H30; N&W had 10 cars in this class; the more numerous HC-2 were basically identical, but lacked the "rivet strip" in the center of the car.

The NWHS has drawings of both cars in its archives at www.nwhs.org and click to search the archives.

Re: A&D rebuilt box car
It doesn't look like they kept all that much of the Class BS car. Sides and
ends are certainly different. I can't tell about the roof. The Carmer cut
levers seem to be carried over.
Is there

Re: A&D rebuilt box car
100 of these cars were acquired from the N&W in 1957 and were stenciled " N&W Railway Owner and Lessor".
There is a b&w photo of # 2226, and a color photo of #2269 on pages 86, and 102 respectively,

The N&W HC-2 class built in 1942 are nearly the same -- some roof hatch
differences, maybe a few other details.

Re: Ever heard of a "STU pipe" or a "stew pipe"?
Hi Kent,
The vertical pipe on the B end is the line to the retainer valve. I haven't heard of it being called a stew pipe though.

Ever heard of a "STU pipe" or a "stew pipe"?
I'm completing the transcription of 3 hours of interviews with a vet who, unfortunately, recently passed on. In all 45 pages of material, there's only one word we can't figure out. It's in the context
