Re: Testor's announcement
I don't like, and haven't used, Floquil for years, so I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I've never used anything else and am somewhat reluctant to change. That reluctance may be OBE.

Some are good at this such as Richard (and Pullmanboss, who can

When I worked at Peterbilt (too many years ago) we used to be able
to buy overstock for various jobs. I bought a lot (it was cheap) and
sprayed many things. It sprayed wonderfully. Problem is

Well ? What Richard said,
I think the main bug ah boo stems from a lot of people don't want to
bother to mix a paint when they can buy a RTR paint. They want to get RTR
cars and engines and don't

I'm entirely in agreement with Tim on this. I use Scale Coat on models I intend to decal, but otherwise I have been custom-mixing Model Master for years with uniformly good results, both for body

Erie had similar cars in their 14500 series - there are 3 builders photos on the fallen flags site Erie-> freight cars -> gondolas. Build date 1930. PM had similar cars too.

Re: automotive lacquer (was ...Testors...)
While I have no recent data, my understanding some years back was that one of the Scalecoats was automotive lacquer specially mixed specially for them.
And Rustoleum isn't all that bad...it works

If you can find a supplier you can probably order it. HD carries
lacquer (clear) and I ordered a few quarts a couple of months ago to see
if it could be done. So while it might not be in body
