You neglected to mention an important fact that would help - these are 36' IL cars.
I bet there were not too many railroads that has 36' IL single sheathed pressed steel

Mystery Boxcars at Mount Union

6-axle gondola questions
I know the N&W and VGN got prototypes of their so-called BATTLESGHIP 6-axle gons before placing large orders, but did the C&O do this too? I've found information on 1,000 C&O cars - 100000-100999 -

The MP GS gondolas Tim refered to were built by Missouri Pacific in 1955 at their DeSoto, Mo. shops. I have uploaded the eqipment diagram for these gondolas in the files section under MP GS

The WP cars were built by GATC beginning in 1953. The first were WP 9101-9400, followed later by 9401-9700; these cars wee 46' IL. Lter in the '50s they also got 42' IL 70 ton gone from AC&F; some
