Dave:
If you add a fish belly underframe and make up an original USRA roof you can make a Frisco rebuilt car from the Tichy kit. Jerry Glow makes decals for this car. He also makes an excellent P&LE

The general arrangement and lettering drawings listed on the PRRT&HS web site are a very small fraction of the drawings that are on the microfilm. The PRR microfilmed nearly all of their drawings ca.

Is this a comprehensive list of their holdings? The car I'm looking for wasn't included in the index.

Re: water out of the tender for fire hoses
Mere siphon is not enough. The pressure of the water entering the boiler must exceed that of the steam pressure inside the boiler.

Tom
I do not fault Martin. I'll never understand how that group runs the
show. Sometimes I think it succeeds despite them, not because of them.
They gave my group (Free-Mo) a HUGE amount of space

Dave Schroedle asked:
"I have 3 of your 6453 kits and a Tichy USRA rebuild that I need Midwestern RR's
for any ideas ?"
How about Wabash for the Tichy USRA

Tim,
The reason that Martin has never been to Springfield was that they could not guarantee him table space. They have been after him to come for a long time, but each time he asked for table space,

Re: 1946 Car Builder's Cyclopedia available on DVD
I also bought one of these. After using it for a while I noticed that not
all of the original pages are included. I don't know how many are missing
but I counted to a hundred and stopped counting.

The same book has photos of CRLX 8814 and 8742 (p 39) and 8702 (p 41). There's also a roof-and-end shot of CRLX 8735 in the NMRA Bulletin, 4/96, p 2.
