End brackets on CV 40000-series boxcar
I'm trying to write a blog post on the Central Vermont's 40000-series Howe truss boxcars (ACF, 1924) and can't find the right term to describe perhaps the most unusal spotting features of these cars

You took the words right out of my keyboard, Al. That looks almost exactly like Tichy's truck.

Re: CP "minibox"
Hi, Robert -
While our current sample model has the steel running board (and a missing running board support on the 'A' end), for the first run, all of the versions will have a wood running board.

Re: More freight car help please
I didn't realize you were talking about 10'6" cars.
Yeah, the only 12 panel riveted 10'6" cars are from C&BT. Or you could use the old Front Range
car bodies (quite nice IMO) and add Archer rivets.

Aren't the IM cars 10 ft IH. I think I have some old C&BT kits squirreled away. But I need to check the ends.

The cars had wood running boards through out their lives. The photo in the True Line Trains ad appears to be of a built-up F & C resin kit #6440. Also the intermediate roof ribs should be less

Roger, that's an ARA cast steel truck with spring plank and
elliptical leaf springs. Tichy makes a reasonable facsimile in HO
scale, their stock number 3051.

That looks, to my less-than-expert eye, a lot like Tichy's #3051 caboose truck. Mr Cox may wish to consult Richard Hendrickson's llustrated discussion of HO freight-car trucks: please see group

Re: red caboose 1937 aar sq corner
Ok....I went and found my NKP Society magazines covering these cars. The
Spring 1990 issue did the 15000 cars and the Winter 1991 did the 18000 cars.
First, there were no rebuilds of the 15000
