layout, a stock layover area in a large classification yard where
foreign cars come in loaded, and leave empty, and home road stock

According to Tony's RMC article and his blog, in 1949 it went to 48
months for most cars... which is what I forgot when I posted my origianl
message.

I assume that the rules for Periodic Light-Weighing changed by 1957? But when? My 19/48 ORER says that 30 months was the longest interval for box cars, stock cars, etc. FHP (FHPeacock)

Dang, these things that happen some time in the future always mess me
up, so yes, the 1953 car would be OK with both of the 1957 cars, but the
1952 car would be in need of reweighing.

CN did have some five-foot door stock cars, inherited from the Intercolonial/Canadian Government Railways. But they had a vertically-boarded door with three horizontal cross braces, as I recall.
