ETO (European Theater of Operations) General Arrangement Drawing indicates an empty weight of 65.6 Long Tons,(2200 lbs. I believe) giving an actual weight of 144,320 (calculated) lbs.

Another gon with drop doors are the Santa Fe's Ga-22 and Ga-25 composite gons, done in resin by Sunshine complete with drop doors cast in white metal for weight, their Kit # 61.1. The one piece ends

Walthers lists the DA kits as out of stock, but several other on-line vendors seem to have them. Walthers and other vendors also have DA GS gon parts in stock.

DRGW 70 ton Gondolas. 70000-70699
Tim is correct about the number series. W&R had a hard order for 50 of the cars before it decided to import them. Some DRGW modeler has long gondola drags to run.

class GB for the 'bullion trade'.
These are the cars W&R imported just over 10 years ago.

I also found my Intermountain Caswell. I was looking for a kit... that's why I couldn't find it yesterday. I found an RTR car that I had never even taken out of the box. Definitely one of IM's

I dug out of both of my Detail Associates kits... both are #200 composite side. Looks like it's ebay to shop for a steel side. Are the DA cars OOP now? Red Caboose kind of rained on their parade

Rock Island's GS gondolas use what the folio diagrams refer to as a Creeping
Shaft mechanism to control the doors. They had as many as 6700 (1930)
