Kent, some lettering decal input for you.
If you can avoid it, do not use the supplied decals for your F&C N-34 wagontop kit. Worst B&O decals ever. Little resemblance to prototype practice.

Proto 2000 tank cars
Luckily I have a couple of kits stashed away for a rainy day, so I shall scan the handrail sprue to make a pattern for the replacement handrails in due course.

Handle them carefully? <G> Seriously though, this is one of the weak points of these cars. I have yet to have to do this, but I think the suggestion to use Precision Scale brass stanchions
