The 8000-8099 series cars had the Murphy solid steel roofs applied in 1940
as per diagram on nprha.org under box car diagrams. The 8100-8199 series
cars also had Murphy solid steel roofs

wars". Twenty cents in 1963 would be $1.44 today.
Using AIER a 1940 .23 cents equals $3.58
