UP composite 40' gon
Has anyone modified one of the Intermountain composite gons to the Union Pacific post 1951 rebuilt single sheathed steel sides? If so, what did you do to remove the wood sides?

Re: Working with Jerry Glow's decals
I had the same problem with his large Armour lettering. I sliced the decals along the panel joint lines and poked every rivet that didn't have a snug fit and kept puddling on the Solvaset.

Hi Pierre--I am a very happy user of Jerry's decals. For decals from any seller I will usually place a small amount of Microset (blue label) in the intended location. Once positioned I will let it

Northern Pacific 36' Double Sheathed Boxcar of 1900
My W&R imported NP 36' boxcar #37220 arrived and it has some interesting differences from my assembled F&G resin model. The major differences are in the ends: F&G features outside 'U-shaped' braces

Pierre,
I have used a number of Jerry's decals and have had no problem. I did learn, however, that the way to apply them is to cut the parts out, place a bit of water on the area where the segment

I have had great success with Jerry Glow's decals. I puncture the film in every open space with divider points. I have used full-strength Solvaset without any problem with running or smearing

Re: Working with Jerry Glow's decals
I've never used Jerry's decals but I had a similar problem when I tried printing my own using an inkjet printer. Unless running lettering is a weathering effect one is looking for, I was not happy

Gentlemen,
I'm having a bit of a struggle with the decals from Jerry Glow and I'm hoping that some of you have additional insight into dealing with these decals.

Re: PRR Depressed Center flat car
Ah, but there were rivets on the deck, no? :-)
Tim O'Connor
The PRR 100 ton F23 flats were probably as flat a flat car ever was. 30'
long with a steel deck.

Re: Athearn conversion
Staffan,
I knew I wasn't the first to think of this project. I've been mulling it over for a few years. It's something I just had to get out of the system.
I've been quite busy during construction.

Re: Need help identifying freight car classes
On Fri Jul 1, 2011 Rob Erickson asked about a couple UP box car classes (among other things) in 1957.
I have not yet tackled making a roster for the UP 50-ft boxcars. It is not a simple task, and
