Spelling is one thing, pronunciation another. I can imagine one of the
locals using an emphatic guttural first syllable as in Wah-(ptooey!)-Satch.
More polite writers came along later and omitted the

It's still wrong, but I suppose it gives Mike, as a UP modeler, a
reprieve. I was hoping we could lodge him in own jail so he could

Yes, it is, and confirms my identification of the trucks.
And it's WASATCH, only one H. That's how it's spelled on all the
maps, aviation sectionals, etc. No USGS documents show alternative
