Scalecoat Oxide Red and Floquil Zinc Chromate Primer are good for B&O bright oxide red, painted on B&O boxcars 1945 to about 1964

B&O memos call out ferrous oxide, but since B&O did not hire college graduates in those days (troublemakers, all), B&O could have meant a ferrous oxide as general term, and the pigment they purchased

Correct. The instructions in the kit state that it was built by the CM&StP
Rwy between 1900-1915.

It's a Milwaukee Road, after I started lettering a fleet for the Great Northern, I came across an MR from the '50's with plans for this ore car which showed that it's a Milwaukee Road ore car.

I am not sure what you are referring to here Greg. Do you you mean in length or height? I have built all of these kits in multiples and they appear dimensionally correct to me. Can you say more.
