In addition there can be over 50 roman numeral numbered pages up front. Also some page numbers can be skipped and extra pages (101a, 101b) inserted. This was normal in many of the older periodical

Bill,
Most typographic oddities in my e-mails are due to my poor typing skills (!), but in this case I think it does have something to do with your e-mail program formatting.

I would guess it's your mail program, or some preference setting such as your choice of typeface for mail. My Apples, which use the Mac's Mail program, do not show these oddities.

I am curious what causes the typographic oddities like those in Bill's message? I see them in other's as well. Is it because I have an Apple?

I tried that realizing the cover pages etc count as PDF but not document pages only to find the pages were in no particular order. It's like they cut up the ORER and randomly scanned pages. Hopefully

Re: ORERs on Google Books
Hi Jerry.
The key to finding a specific railroad using the downloaded pdf is pretty simple. In the front of each ORER is an index to where the railroad and private business are located in the PDF.

Limited use IMO. The one I D/Led is not searchable nor pages arranged in order. I don't have the time or patience to shift thru 800 pages to find a specific railroad.

For myself, I'd sure like to find more from 1912-1922 or so.

Wow! 20 ORER hits. Some I already have. The rest ought to keep me busy for a while. Thanks so much, Jack. I wasn't aware of the "more editions" thing but will see if I can exploit that, too.
