Tim, do you have a URL link or source to BAR 5387 in the SoM scheme?
That would be an interesting car to model.

Standard Oil (1942) Tank Car?
My layout has a location for a Standard Oil Distributor. (Sanborn Map shows four vertical tanks so it wasn't huge. My time period is 1942. Location western North Carolina.
Needless to say I don't

Re: Atlas 1932 boxcar...
Steve, why not? BAR and MEC were Class 1 railroads and their cars
travelled all over the country.
The MEC never used the red/white/blue "State of Maine" scheme.
The BAR applied it to some 1932 cars

Eric,
That was quite a discovery - not only finding the two steam-era boxcars
in 2005, but also seeing that BAR still had some of the ARA cars in
service in the post-roofwalk billboard car number

The more I think about this, if only a couple cars in a train had their doors open it would be rememberable.
I watched a DVD on the RI in the 60s a few days ago. With an hours worth of trains rolling

Re: Red Caboose 103W welded tankcar
I vaguely recall this came up before in discussions of the Atlas 11,000
gallon ICC 105 tank cars, as the model's prototype was built 1947-1951 but
some of them had open grid running boards.

Which leads to another question-any chance that either roads' 1932 cars would
