The model armor guys are using this paint/test tube stirrer. Thicker paints they put a metal ball in to help. There are tons of YouTube videos of people using them for model paint.

I have not stripped the paint from one of these, but I have repainted some. It is best to remove the lettering so it does not show through on a repaint. This can be done on most of them
