The truck sideframes are lettered "Vulcan", and that's an awfully wide spring package, almost looks like a Dalman. I'm not a truck expert, of course: would defer to those more knowledgeable.

Don,
Very interesting.
These cars have a side construction reminding me of a short six-wheel trucked "Battleship Gons" of the 1920-1924 ear built for the Virginian (120/109-ton cars) and C&O

My gripe is that they have the nerve to call them color guides .
In the old Car Builders Cyclopedias they use to have pages containing paint chips.
Just like paint swatch books or swatch cards in

Interesting. Do you recall what railroads owned the stock cars used for these movements?
Does anyone know when this sort of live stock moves were started?

Re: warped resin car
My solution has been to install internal bracing in the form of thick styrene "bulkheads" to correct inward & outward bowing in box & reefer bodies near the roof line.
By think I mean at least 0040"

UC 599 is fitted with clasp brake shoes and a KD brake system. The car's frame is extended out past the end of the carbody, likely to allow longer truck spacing to spread the car's 125-ton weight

Actually, they use colourised black-amd-white photos, too.
Their book "Great Lakes Trolleys" uses many of these.
