Re: DGR&W box car
I need to correct my earlier post on kitbashing these cars. It was the Nov/Dec 1986 issue of Model Railroading that the article appeared in, not RMJ. And it was a Walthers kit, from the former

Richard Burg has a 1960 photo of AA 271, his catalog #55002.
I don't have the photo handy or I'd describe it to you..

Ann Arbor XM Series 250-299
I'm trying to attach lineages (type, builder, and year built) to the Ann Arbor boxcars listed in the April 1957 ORER. I've found something for all except for:
XM, 250 to 299, 40'6" IL, 10'6"IH, 3892

Re: DGR&W box car
There was an article on kitbashing these cars in styrene in an old RMJ. It used the Walthers (formerly Golden Spike) 50' plug door boxcar flat kit as a starting point. New roof and ends as I recall.

I cannot find my copy to see if they give any info to help locate the photo like a "call number" but the people at PSA are helpful. I have visited there and have purchased items.

Cover photo from the Post War Freightcar Fleet
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a copy of the photo on the cover
of the Post War Freight Car Fleet by Kline and Culotta. The photo would make
a great addition to the boxcar clinic I've done.
