Rob,
Much easier to get the faded paint with powdered colors over the factory paint. No need to strip and repaint. Powders also give the effect of chalking paint, perhaps the main cause of fading. I

Thanks. I agree with you on this. I have used powders as well without a final seal. The dull coat seems to have enough tooth to hold it on my models as well. Again well done

The truss angles are different on the XM-1 cars. One uses a Howe truss design while the other it a Pratt truss design.
