Re: PRR class X26 USRA ss boxcar in 1948
Yes, it’s a three way switch, with one leg being used in a crossover. Commercial component readily available to model that trackwork, in most scales.

Re: [Non-DoD Source] [RealSTMFC] PRR class X26 USRA ss boxcar in 1948
Elden,
I cannot read the car number of the B&O wagontop on the far left, but I think it is an M-53 not one of the rebuilt M-15s, because it appears to have a Duryea underframe.

A lot did but not all; cars that received end supports were renumbered from their original number. Cars in the 1950s still in their original number would not have them even though some did have steel

Cool photo. Interesting building for sure. The track leading up to it looks pretty sketchy for sure.

Looks like PRR 37724, which would put it in the PRR 37100-39865 series. Note also the 1932 ARA boxcar with Pullman flat ends

Larry do you if all of the ex-MDT reefers received this end reinforcement? And was it done on both ends?

I see an end door box car back there.

Re: [Non-DoD Source] Re: [RealSTMFC] Photo: Soda Digester On PRR Flat Car (Circa 1920)
Yes, indeed, a PRR F23. The rivets on the deck end any doubt, as does the shortness of the carbody. In largely as-built form, including the arch bar trucks and safety chains.
Great find, Bob!
