Cyril, that post was a bit misleading. Mather began leasing stock
cars before the turn of the century, but the 40'4" IL cars modeled by
Life-Like were built in the 1920s and early 1930s and

Tom the CB&Q did not begin using the Chinese Red paint until 1958. I don't believe the leased their Mather stockcars until that
time. So the numbers may not have been assigned to stockcars in

FW&D 6000-7200 were added to the FW&D roster in about 1916. They were of identical dimensions to CB&Q XM-18, DS cars built 1911-1914 by Haskell & Barker

the Proto 2000 trucks, except for the spring plank. I

50000-50139 were Mather double deck cars leased by CB&Q between 1960 and 1967 from North American Car Corp. The Chinese red colour scheme was introduced in 1958 and was correct for these cars,

Hard to tell from the Fallen Flags image, but I happen to have a 2/59
in-service photo of exactly the same car, DAX 309, thanks to the
