Re: Shell Chemical Tankcar SNHX 2058
Richard,
Try SCMX. AC&F built a number of cars for Shell Chemical Co. with SCMX
reporting marks during the 1930s-1940s, but car number 2058 wasn't in
the bunch. The closest I find is SCMX 2063-2081

No offence taken. You've given a very good explanation as to
quantities of Canadian cars in the US, and why you exclude them from
your fleet percentages.
Customs tariff issues caused both

I totally agree with you. It seems that some regional weighing of
fleet percentages is in order. The Niagara Frontier would have some
Canadian cars population higher than the US average,

Shell Chemical Tankcar SNHX 2058
Trying to find some info on Shell tankcar SNHX 2058. I can find info on
it in the 70's but the number doesn't show up in earlier ORER's. Does
anyone know of earlier reporting marks? It was built in

I love that site, but he screwed up on the Branchline

to be relocated a few inches to the left!

I'm not sure where the idea came from in this discussion that the P2K
50' box/auto car models represent cars with 10'0" IH, but they don't;
they are based on 10'6" IH prototypes.

As I said, I agree, but those cars were required by law to be returned to
Cananda. (We know there are cases they weren't but in general they were)
Therefore, there were not in the free running XM
