Article of Interest - SP Flatcars
The Fall 2008 issue of the SP society's SP Trainline has a very
intersting article by Pat Bray on "How to Model a 1960s Era MUG
Train". As the title indicates, it's written in the context of cars

"Interesting" is a very kind way of putting it. Some of us might
phrase it as "frustrating combination of heights, ends and roofs" once
you get away from some of the steel boxcars...

Pere Marquette freight cars in N scale
First off a question: they aren't in the Revenue Freight cars book, but do
Atlas' 70-ton ore cars in Pere Marquette lettering (#39990A, road #CF1512;
#39991A, road #CF1523) have a prototype?

Re: Brass PRR X23 - Suggestions in HO Scale?
Jason,
Do yourself a favor and make another selection for the brass collection. All of the brass X23's are pretty bad when compared to Al Westerfield's resin offering.

Brass PRR X23 - Suggestions in HO Scale?
I would like to add a PRR X23 to my HO scale collection of brass
freight cars. I see there have been a few importers who have done
this car such as Overland and MTS. Any thoughts to which importer

Hi Rick,
So could you direct us to where we might see a copy of your work on the topic?
Inquiring minds want to know...

Walt,
I don't know. I would suspect not, but I have never seen a set of drawings for the A-50-
16. What I have is the UP's proprietary welded underframe for the box cars. If someone
has drawings

Re: Lists of freight car models
Frank,
I compiled a list showing cars that are or can be converted to Santa Fe prototypes, but know of no overall listing.
You have to go to each historical society and check each fo a listing.

Ted, nice to see a PM car being done. IMO they had a very interesting
looking boxcar fleet. I see I'll have to do some saving before I can spring
for one of these models....
