Re: grab irons
While the Grabhandler easy to convert this tool's "inch" scale to HO, the
problem is that it doesn't have a setting for the equivalent of 18" or 23"
in HO scale. However, I have still found it helpful

Re: Tank Car Lettering
Hi Richard,
Sadly I have been informed that Sinclair didn't own that type of car. So I guess I'll have to consider another lettering option. Thanks for the info.

Re: grab irons
Dennis,
The grab iron placement jigs are for EMD and GE diesels. I don't know
if the spacing would be okay for STMFCs. I'm working on a jig and
bending grabs out of .008 music wire. Straight grabs

No argument Dennis. They are better. They also
cost 30 cents EACH -- some box cars require what,
40 or more grabs -- that would be $12 worth of
grabs on one box car! For me, that puts them in

Steam era Bulk oil depot questions including carloads for construction
I've been researching bulk oil depots circa 1940. I now have more
questions than answers. I'm trying to construct the Standard Oil
Company facility which was in Bryson City, NC in the early 1940s.

Very well said Dennis. You are being very kind with the statement "look clunky". The visual difference is incredible! However, I do not use them on all of my mdels because they are very hard to work

As far as I know, all the other commercial pre-formed grabs are .012"
