It is very possible these came in as an estate collection, after the owner had passed on. If so, I would hope that the builder got some satisfaction for their money.

Funaro & Camerlengo offer an HO scale kit for an AC&F Type 11 tank car. I don't know the gallon capacity but it looks like 8k.

Correct - I have photos of 9 cars. The cars are ex-Southern Railway and were built 1938 to 1942
just going by dates stenciled on the cars in the photos.
