I agree, the old Kadde truck springs look poor. Kadee makes a HGC (high gravity compound) version of this truck where the springs are solid, # 571 or 1571 with the semi scale wheels. They look much

Re: Detailing for early tank cars
All-
I recall seeing such CB&Q cars in (probably) company service during the late 1950s and maybe into the early 1960s.
Don’t recall the number series but it should be able to come up with them

RE: sugar beets to 3D printer.
What I would do…
In 3D CAD, make one or 2 individual beets (probably a “profile” spline and a revolve would be enough?)
Then make a bunch scaled up/down

RE: High-platform tank cars
Note that anyone modeling a WW-II period “oil” tank car train could use a couple.
They weren’t many, but they did stand out in the pictures I have seen.

Ray,
I suspect this would need to be a labor of love. While some prototypes lasted into the 1940s, they were not common. Modelers with an earlier focus, like me and several others,

Tim,
This was not my picture--I simply copied and cropped it from the earlier post, focusing more on the narrow gauge gondola(s).

I'll look for the Chooch loads.
I wonder if a realistic sugar beet load can be done in 3-D printing. How would one specify
