I enjoy giving the clinics at the RPM's. I even have a few ready to go, whenever that is.
As far as a photo showing the piping, I do not have one in the book. But the diagram on page 94 sums up

Is the Atlas 4-hinge reefer close to the Swift 4-hinge prototypes? I've compared the Atlas reefer (a CRLX prototype) to photos at the below link, and the bodies seem pretty close to me beyond

Re: MP boxcar color mix
Brian,
I don’t have any Vallejo paints to help, but if you have any Branchline Trains MP 40’ box car models, they are spot-on matches to a 1956 Bowles Color Drift Card.

Ed Hawkins

Does anyone have a good starting point for a 1950s Missouri Pacific box car color using Vallejo paint?

Re the B&M cars- the 1916 CBD figure.425 on,pg.384 shows the Western Stl Car underframe for these cars.
I'm not sure if this is exactly the same as the "B&M" underframe. Note these cars had 8x12 brake

Wonderful work!
And a big THANK YOU for the weathering details. I presently have a couple of single sheathed box cars on the work bench and you have provided a good education in how to apply

Re: Detailing for early tank cars
Ray,
When you say "early", what years do you mean?
And "the usual models"... what does that mean?
There are excellent models out there of many pre-WWII tank cars that need no, or next to no
