When water is added to dry cement, it becomes strongly alkaline. This means
that it is a significant inhalation and eye hazard, even when dry. Wet
cement can cause nasty chemical burns if exposure

I couldn't resist, maybe people call their sidewalks "cement" because they watched too many old Beverly Hillbillies shows.........remember the "Seeement Pond" (inground swimming pool) they had?

Hi Michael, Your suggestion seems directionally incorrect. Typically one roughens a surface
to improve paint adhesion rather than polishing it. Regards, Don Smith

with a small rotary head. This seems safer, easier and perhaps more

Re: MP 10-6 IH 40 ft Boxcar - Follow-up
Thanks again Ed.
I'm sure your article is great like your other stuff, but for the single MP car on my layout, I'm not sure my budget can support it.

One technique I haven't seen mentioned lately is polishing the

The value in Stauffer's books is in the photos- which in aggregate are indeed hard to find most anywhere else without a lot of work.
Far too often, Staufer had never a clue as where the border lay
