Re: New items from Speedwitch
Brian,
A review of my 1955 ORER disk from Westerfield does not list the 76001-77500 series either. However, that number series is listed on my 1950 ORER disk from Westerfield.
The only photo I have

Re: New items from Speedwitch
Ted recently announced the following Katy kits.
I have always liked the chrome yellow color of these cars. However, I am
trying to track these done in my ORER's to see how many were left in 1957.

Re: Gon's or Flats Pipe Loads
John,
Living in Texas and in an area of very active gas drilling,
(yes, I've contracted for my rights), all I see is 40ft
drill pipe. That's the standard size as far as I can see.

Re: Gon's or Flats Pipe Loads
I think what you may be referring to is called "jobbers" lengths. For most large jobs and industrial applications the standard lengtyh is 40 foot. These lengths are hauled on 40 foot flat bed

Check the archives - this has probably been posted 100 times by now in

well beyond my present date of June 1944 ;^)

John,
They are most likely not being sold through retailers in that sense. The

I have a couple of questions for the group about type KC brakes.
When were KC brakes outlawed for cars in interchange service?
Would a vertical staff brake wheel on a box car or reefer
