Re: S-CL Modeler - Content Question
I've not been able to locate the speculated 17'16.5" width mentioned anywhere on pages 44 or 45. One should never solely rely on general arrangements as the gold bar standard, rather consult actual

Re: S-CL Modeler - Content Question
I guess its possible that I interpreted the drawing wrong, but the measurement shown from the centerline of the door to the side of the cab is 8' 8.25"... which is 17' 16.5" if doubled... right?

Re: b & o stockcars.
Looking down on the roof from above, the "groove" between the two roof-spanning ribs should run from upper left to lower right.
We know why Athearn got it wrong. It is fascinating if all

The GB&W also had boxcars with X's painted on the doors in the '30's/'40's. I have heard from sources that they were captive LCL service boxcars, and the practice came from the C&NW...something

My understanding of the X box car doors was an indication of explosive loads,
therefore, not likely to be in the Chicago tunnels.

The only cars that match the HO Bachmann stockcar you reference are the Atlas and Model Power copies of the Atlas.
The picture is of the HO car, not the N as is often normal with Bachmann. I
