Re: Aluminum cars
Clark,
I think the magazine was Mainline Modeler, and it featured the GM&O cars but was probably valid for the other cars you mentioned. I cannot recall the month or year.

Re: Aluminum cars
In 1945 Mount Vernon Car built box cars for several roads I think in
batches of 10 each. Sunshine sells the kit. M&StL cars were 1000-1018
even numbers. Alton, Rock Island and NKP also come to mind,

Jerry;
I wholeheartedly agree! If there was ever anything more embarrassing, I am
not sure I know what it is! Those guys in the engineer's caps and vests make
me actually avoid telling anyone not

Re: Pre-weathered Cars Comment
Märklin in recent years has offered some pre-weathered cars, mostly in sets
and mostly in HO, though one or two of their Z scale cars were also done.
I don't know how well they sell, though,

Frank,
Add FGEX 40000. Got that car in interchange one night
and I held it for photos. Get back to the yard and there
were cars on an adjacent track and it was in shadows.
Shot it anyway but that

These cars were built 2-3/52. Add to this CN 521497-521499 built 1/46 as experimental aluminum boxcars -- for some reason these three cars were never noted in the ORER as being anything unusual.
