If you use RTV rubber you can go wax to rubber to investment to finished part. Saves a lot of time and a lot of shrinkage. You will have 1 1/2% every time you cast brass. So your original wax wants

You only need one RP wax to make an investment cast cylinder. THAT part is then used for the vulcanized mold(s).

My take on the Ertl cars wasn't that they were over-weathered but that
they were badly weathered. Gray paint applied with several quick
passes of an airbrush isn't at all convincing. Most models
