Yeah, the PRR was pretty serious about it, if correspondence and firings are
any indication. It was just any foreign road for whose placarding had little
to no meaning!

A "return to" placard does not assign a car anywhere. It's
just a small waste of labor done for appearance only. Some
of those stencils were even applied by customers if they
thought they liked

steel ctrsill box cars w/truss cars purchased used by the M&StL in 1938. The
# series was 26000 to 26418 even #'s, total of 210
