Microscale printed decals for the O scale Overland SP GS-3 and -4
models. It is possible that they printed other decals for Ovl.

MDT Flat Cars & Tank Trailers
At one time Merchants Despatch owned and operated flat cars with (milk?) tank trailers. Some years ago, Overland imported HO scale brass models of them. A friend who is a professional painter now

Richard,
I believe that the flats were black, National Car, and the trailers were
different depending on the dairy. Bob Brown on the Milk Trains List makes
milk decals, unkown if for this

Caboose question
List,
Happened upon a photo of a NYC plywood sided caboose taken in the Ohio area.
The unusual, for me, was the lack of marker lights and the substitution of what look like ping pong

I just put in some wheelsets with plastic wheels. That protects the bearing surfaces well enough.

Re: masking (Painting) freight car trucks
For spot masking, I use the low-tack stick-um goop that
you can buy at any drugstore. It is very cheap, seems to
be invulnerable to solvent paints, is reusable, and comes
off easily and cleanly. And

I don't blast the backs of the side frames so I don't put anything over
the bearing holes. I don't weather the backs either. You just don't
see that area. I do wash them thoroughly before

Eric, Tom, et al:
These are indeed different prototypes. The cars I am doing were built new from 1937
-1941. Jim's are 1945 rebuilds of cars built in 1924. There are many similarities. As
