I can't answer your question about the air line.
However a note about the resin trucks. The ReBoxx folks make a bushing insert for just this situation that will vastly prolong the service life

My 1944 layout will also see a 5000 class ATSF 2-10-4. The loco will be new, from Baldwin, being hauled dead for delivery. I also have plans for 2 Baldwin VO1000s, one NP and one US Army to show
