The Walthers car is a VERY rough approximation of a pre-war GATC car.
It is not a good representation. The tank is too large, the underframe
is crude, and the whole thing is mis-proportioned.

Ross, not sure about the ladders but the roof walks are pretty much a light press fit. I took the blade of an X-Acto knife and pried them off with no damage. They pop right back in place as well.

Obviously the acetal painting problem has been solved; just look
at all the recent diesel models with painted handrails. I prefer the

enginnering plastics. It likes to stick to it if you prime the
material with an acetone wipe or do a Al2O3 media blast to roughen up

Certain stripes are easier to do than others and I'll leave it that. One
of the issues with the MON (CIL) stripe is the ladder which is also painted
white at the top and our ladders are made
